Keith needed the car yesterday for a catering gig, so I decided I'd take the bus to my 5:30 class. Well, I didn't really have a choice in the matter, but I did it. Never having taken the bus to that gym before, I decided I should get there a little early in case anything weird happened (like me getting on the wrong bus or missing my stop). I got there about 30 minutes early, which was great because I had time to hop on the elliptical and get some cardio in. But first, I needed a little boost because I was hungry, so I grabbed a fruit bar at the gym. Assuming the gym would only be selling healthy snacks, I didn't look at the ingredients. I only looked at the calorie content, which was 200. No big deal. Well, one bite of that thing told me that something was off. I looked at the ingredients. Number three, high fructose corn syrup. I wanted to take that thing back downstairs and chuck at it the front desk attendants. Why would they be selling crap like that in a health club?! It tasted like a sugary and syrupy mess! So unacceptable. But in the end, it was a lesson learned. No more buying things without first checking the ingredients!
