Last week, I went out on a Wednesday night, got completely housed and met THIS awesome guy!

great weekend!

I have to make this short because I am really exhausted and ready to curl up in bed and watch Coraline, but my weekend was amazing. Friday night I cleaned and got four loads of laundry done, Saturday I worked until 12:30 and then Keith and I made an appearance at a retirement party for one of my yoga students, then I went to Target and got a couple things (face wash, clorox wipes, nothing too exciting), and then I met up with Thomas (I met him at the drag show I went to Wednesday night but I haven't blogged about it yet) and we went to Boxxes. We got in for free because Tommy Girl (one of the drag queens from Wednesday night) told me that if I came back to Boxxes Saturday night to go dancing she would let me in for free. Well, I walked in and I heard someone go, "Tami!" It was Tommy Girl. I was so impressed she remembered me. She gave me a kiss on the cheek and held my hands and told me she wished she was as pretty as me when she woke up. I love her. She said the whole crew loved having me at the show Wednesday night because I was nice and a lot of fun. How can you not be fun at a drag show? I thought it was amazing. So anyway, Alex met us there and we danced and danced and danced until 2 am. Thomas spent the night at my apartment and today me, Keith and Thomas all went to the Sandy River to float. Holy f-ing rocks it was so much fun! We parked one car and the end and then the other car at the beginning and floated all the way down! It took us two and a half hours. We saw Ben and Stacey there. More like we saw them and I chased their car down the street while wearing a bikini and an inner tube. Silly! We very narrowly escaped a $40 parking ticket, losing the car key and running out of gas. Overall it was a wonderful weekend (week, actually). I am tired and off to bed!

random

Chocolate coffee smells delightful but tastes horrendous!

I taught one yoga class already today and will be teaching another one at 6. Currently I am sitting at the computer in my towel drinking this nasty coffee and listening to TV on the Radio.

Yesterday Keith and I bought $3 inner tubes from Fred Meyer and floated down the river hand in hand at Sauvie Island. Aren't we cute?

I need to clean the apartment, but have been very lazy about it. I just don't want to do it. I hope to at least change Simon's litter box, change the sheets on the bed and take out the trash before I teach tonight. Oh and wipe down the kitchen. That seems like enough, right?

It is too hot in my apartment to be drinking hot coffee. And possibly a little too late in the day, too. Am I crazy?

Ahhh it's hot!

my weekend

I had a great weekend! Friday was a really long day! I got up at 4:45 and taught yoga and then worked out, then I came home and went to this volunteer thing called Sand in the City at Pioneer Square. I left after 20 minutes because I was bored, hot and tired. I tried to take a nap when I got home but I was too tired so I just watched Desperate Housewives. Then I worked from 6-9, then Keith and I went to Doug Fir to see this band called Sassparilla. So good! I saw Zane there. I stayed out too late though, so I was really tired when I had to be at work at 8:30 the next morning. When I got off I came home and literally slept for 7 hours, then I slept all night too. Yesterday I taught yoga at 8 at Hollywood and it was a great class! Alex from work came, which was a surprise because he didn't know I was teaching since I picked it up at the last minute. So we went and had coffee afterwards and then I went back to the gym and worked out some more. Then I came home and Keith and I went to the Rose Garden, then we went to Keller Fountain, then I had to go to work from 7-9 for a company-wide meeting. I got some special recognition from my management team for always being positive and happy, and I learned that I will officially be a denim advisor. Yay! After that, I went and got a beer with some co-workers. Alex is hilarious and fantastic and we skipped down the street hand in hand. Yes, we really did. He is another transplant, he moved here from Illinois. So yesterday we decided to be friends :)

I'm done blogging for now!

The headline on Yahoo! News a moment ago was 'New Blow to S.C. Governor'.

Pun intended?

stuff

I want to pack a bag, get in my car and drive all over the western half of this country! All I need is like a month off from work and lots of extra cash, then I can do it! :)

Tomorrow I am teaching at 5:45 am, volunteering at some thing at Pioneer Square with Gap (I'm not sure entirely what it is that I've signed up for...), and then working from 6-9. Pretty busy day tomorrow!

Simon is cute and funny. When I came home from work, he literally ran up to me and snuggled up to my leg like a dog. I laughed. It's nice that he makes me smile. Sometimes he pisses me off because he wakes me up in the middle of the night or pukes on the floor (super rare, but it happens), but for the most part he is just funny. And weird. Nothing wrong with weird, though! I want to get married by an Elvis impersonator in Vegas and have my baby in a bathtub. Some folks might call that weird. I think it's cool.

Jerick (guy from work) and I tried on dresses when we got off work today. We got this disgusting online return dress that's khaki colored with a black design on it. So gross! I begged him to try it on, so he did. He also tied his hair up in a scarf and put on a huge necklace. It was pretty awesome. Oh I left out the part about how it zips up the front. Ewwwy! I tried it on after he did. It was too big for me and it looked better on him.

I used to love the song Pocketful of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield until I set it as the alarm on my Blackberry. Now I hate it. Bummer... from now on I will choose songs that I already dislike to be my alarm I think.

I can't wait to get on the red max to the airport to go home... I have a feeling it will be a long, boring flight! The trip is going to be so much fun, but I will miss Keith for sure. He said he and Simon will "batch it" while I am gone. How cute!

The other day Keith said he wished a big hole would open up in the earth and swallow PGE Park. I could not agree more. So obnoxious...

I think I should get ready to hit the sack. Hope I can sleep tonight! I always have a hard time sleeping when I know I have to be up so early!

who knew?

I found this on imdb trivia about the filiming of Titanic:

On the final night of shooting in Nova Scotia, one or more pranksters mixed PCP (angel dust) into the clam chowder served to the cast and crew. 80 people were taken ill, many hospitalized with hallucinations. Bill Paxton felt listless for two weeks after the incident.

tired

I had the hardest time waking up this morning. I tried to wake up at 7, so I could lounge around drinking coffee and watching Sex and the City for a couple hours before I had to start my day, but that didn't work out. So I finally ended up waking up at 8:30. Now I'm making some strong coffee and hoping it gives me a nice little jolt. I bought the Starbucks extra bold Sumatra coffee, but I don't feel like it's extra bold. I want something strongggeeerrrrrrrrrr.

Today is my lovely mother's birthday! Wish I was there to help her celebrate it.

I'm going to go wake up some more now. I am a zombie.

babies

I have opinions. I can't help it. No, I don't have to share them on my public blog, but you don't have to read it either! Here's my latest rant: the birthing process.

There's this thing going on called "designer birth" and I hate it! Hate it, hate it, hate it! Women should not be able to choose the day their baby is born, they should not be able to choose between a natural birth and a c-section, they should not be given drugs when they aren't dilating "fast enough", etc.! I don't have kids, so some people might think I have no right to talk about this because they think I don't know anything about it, but I am not an idiot. People DO have babies without drugs and without being induced. I don't know anyone who went into labor naturally recently, and I know quite a few people who have recently given birth. The percentage of c-sections in this country is outrageous. It's over forty percent. And I'd love to know the percentage of births that are natural and without drugs. I bet it's less than twenty five percent.

I highly recommend The Business of Being Born. It's a wonderful, informative documentary. At the end of the day, it is the woman's choice the way she chooses to give birth, and I would NEVER take that away from her. But I do think American women could stand to be a little more informed on the subject.

I need to get it together. I am in a funk today that only a plane ticket to Virginia with tonight's date on it could pull me out of. A round trip one, of course.

yoga leggings

I took a yoga class tonight at Lululemon and it was free! It was rock and roll yoga, so we listened to fun music. Jill Allen was the teacher, and I met her when I first came to visit Portland. I was walking back to the apartment after walking Keith to work, and decided to pop into this yoga studio and check it out. They were about to have a class, so I took it. It was heated vinyasa, and Jill was the teacher. It was a great class, and that yoga class actually solidified my decision to move to Portland. So anyway, I walked into Lululemon tonight, all hot and sweaty, fresh from a jog, and Jill says, "Hi! I've met you before...". Amazing! That was 8 months ago. So anyway, it was a great class. She will be teaching every Thursday night in July for free, so hopefully I can attend the next two classes.

Last night I taught a class in Tualatin and it was great. Sometimes I really feel like I get high off yoga. Nothing makes me happier than teaching or taking a great class. Nothing! There was a woman who was sitting on her hip in pigeon (happens often), and I went to correct her and she said she couldn't do it and that's why she was sitting on her hip. So I explained to her what she needed to do in order to properly experience the pose and all of its benefits, and I lightly guided her with my hands to where she needed to go, and her face lit up like a Christmas tree. She definitely learned something in class, and she learned it from me, and that makes me feel awesome. It's so cool to think that she didn't think she could do it before I took 30 seconds to help her.

I have to teach yoga in the morning, then work for a few hours, then go help out at the auditions for The Corners. For more information on The Corners, check out http://thecornersfilm.blogspot.com. It's Keith's first feature film.

more cannon beach

happy sunday

I love blogging. I also like reading other people's blogs. If they are of interest.

I talked to Lynne briefly on facebook this morning. It was nice. Hadn't heard from her in a really long time.

Our apartment is hot. I forgot what it was like to not have air conditioning.

Last night was nice. They closed off a block in Ryan and Amber's neighborhood and had a cute little party. Lots of kids and their dread-headed parents. It felt so very Portland, and I liked it. At one point, the kids were given glow sticks and they had their own little rave party. It was cute. Someone was holding a really cute baby. The baby was wearing orange ear plugs and was in awe of the fireworks. He was probably 10-12 months old. I wanted to hold him. I really wanted to hold him. I used to hate kids, then I was blessed with my nephews and I liked them, but not other kids. Now I love all kids. And babies. They are so cute. And sweet. Keith still thinks babies look like aliens. I used to think "How could my dad have not been 'ready' for a baby at 31 when my mom got pregnant with me?" Now I understand. 31 is not very old. Keith will be 31 in a year and a half. I always say that I still don't think my dad is ready for me!

We might be going hiking with Ben and Stacy today. I think that would be fun. I love hiking, but the only place we know to go is Multnomah Falls. I love it there. Last time we went, we went to the top of the falls, which is about a mile, but then we went beyond that and it was the coolest thing ever. The hike up to the top of the falls is okay. There are a lot of people. Lots of kids and people with their dogs. The trail is paved. Once you go beyond that, there is still a trail but it is no longer paved, and there are far less people. We didn't explore too terribly much, but what we did see was really amazing. I look forward to going back and maybe even hiking to the other side of the mountain. I know you can do that. There are lots of parks and places to hike out here called 'fee parks', meaning the obvious: you have to pay a fee to get in. I bet they are really beautiful.

I am so glad I started blogging when I did. I started soon after I moved to Portland. So now I have huge part of my new life on record. Very cool. I bet if Cristena had a blog it would be very interesting.

Keith is watching Entourage next to me. I love that show, the relationship between Lloyd and Ari completely makes it.

I am trying to eat less food and drink more water. I already drank a lot of water, but I want to drink more. And I had developed this, "I can eat whatever I want, whenever I want because I exercise" attitude, and it's just not healthy. I don't necessarily mean eat less food. What I meant was eat more consciously. That's better.

I am going to go to the gym this morning, but I need to wake up a little more first. I am tired. I woke up at 8 because it was so hot. We can't sleep with the window open because there's so much noise outside, between bums and the max. And the fan seems to blow hot air. But nothing compares to the summer I spent on Grace Street with no a/c! What a nightmare!

Well I suppose I am done blogging for now. Happy sunday!

gap/yoga and my life pt 2

A lady came into the store today and as I was ringing her up, she said, "You are the cutest thing, and absolutely beautiful. Don't ever doubt your looks. I decided that whenever I think that about someone, I am going to tell them." I thought that was very nice, and a lovely policy to adopt. It's always nice to brighten someone's day in any way you can.

My holiday-themed outfit was a hit. People commented on it, and it made me feel very excited. Instead of the white cardigan over the blue dress, I wore a white v-neck tee underneath (which I would normally never do, but we aren't allowed to have our shoulders exposed) and a red necklace, along with my red ballet flats. Tonight when we go to Ramber's I will wear just the blue dress and some flip flops.

I got paid time and a half today. Yes!

I wish I had some red nail polish to wear tonight! Little things like that got lost in my big cross-country move. Then I'd wear white sandals and be super patriotic again.

Today I got really excited because I helped a man pick out a birthday present for his daughter-in-law. He was shopping alone and looked like a lost puppy. When I approached him, he was holding a turquoise colored flowy tank. He held it up and said, "What is this? Like something you sleep in?" I said, "No, it's a tank top. You can pair it with jeans and it will be very cute." He then said, "It's for my daughter-in-law and she's about your size, will this fit her?" It was a medium. I said no and got him a small. Then I said, "That item is on sale. If you buy three more sale items, you will get thirty percent off your total purchase. You could get her three pairs of $1.99 socks to go with the top and it will be the same price, maybe even a little cheaper." He said okay, but he didn't know where to look or what to pick out. I also told him that we had some very nice 'washed cotton' perfume that was very pleasant and hard not to like because it just smelled like clean laundry for $6.97 and the bottle was blue, and I picked out two pairs of socks with blue in them and told him he could get her a blue-themed birthday gift. He was very happy with my suggestion and said that he was an artist and that he should have thought of that himself. I said, "Well, I am an artist when it comes to shopping." He also got her a reusable canvas bag to put the gifts in and spent less than $20. I told him that I was very excited about the gift and that I would like it if someone gave it to me. Nothing excites me like a good bargain.

This morning, some cast members from the movie Twilight were at PGE Park playing 'vampire baseball', whatever that is. I checked into it online and didn't recognize any of their names, so I was very unimpressed. I walked past there after I got my coffee and was not-so-surprised to see only a handful of folks in attendance. Tickets were $45, but if you got the deluxe package it was like $150. Really? $150? That got you a seat, an autograph session with the so-called-stars, and a PGE Park meal. Oh, so you mean a hotdog and a soda? Nice. What a waste of money!

I wanted to go to the gym after work today, but like an idiot, I didn't bother to think for two seconds about the fact that maybe the gym would be closing early in observance of the holiday. I should have gone this morning, and I thought about it, but I decided I'd rather blog and drink coffee instead.

Another Gap story: a woman came in today and bought a thirty-something dollar dress, and I said, if you buy three pairs of $2 socks, you will get thirty percent off of your purchase. She said no. I said, are you sure? You will save almost $10 off your current total and you can do what you will with the socks. She got all snappy and said, "I said NO. I already know that." I couldn't help but think to myself, "What a rude idiot this woman is!" But of course I didn't say anything. I rang her up, smiled at her and said with as much sincerity as I could muster up, "Thanks so much! I hope you have a lovely day!" Hey, if she wants to be an asshole that's not my fault or my problem. Some people take it personally when someone is mean to them there, but I don't. Although I can't imagine ever going to a store and treating someone that way. But some people just have no couth. Who knows? Maybe my cheery demeanor turned out to be a bright spot in her otherwise crappy day. I can only hope.

Sarah bought a plane ticket today for $250 to come visit in October. She will be here from the 15th to the 19th. What a deal! And something else to look forward to!

This morning, Simon put his paw on my face and his claw caught the corner of my mouth. Before he sliced into it, I moved his paw away. I was trying to push him off the bed (as I often do when he messes with me in the morning), but I was so dead asleep that I couldn't find the strength to do it. I couldn't even open my eyes. Luckily, smarty that he is, he got the hint and got off the bed on his own. I don't mind him being on the bed, but he always wants to mess with me. He messes with me more than he messes with Keith. I think that means he likes me more. Ha! Yesterday morning, we were laying in bed right after waking up and Simon was sitting by Keith and I said, "Simon has big ears." Simon made eye contact with me and then let out an angry meow. It was so funny.

Speaking of funny, I have itunes on random, and this song just came on by George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic that I've never heard before, and the only line I've heard so far is, "Shit! Goddamn! Get off your ass and jam!" I am a minute and a half into the song right now, and those are still the only lyrics. Oh, so funny!

Portland summers are beautiful. I can't wait to go to Cannon Beach again.

I miss my level four yoga teacher training in Fort Lauderdale all the time! I am currently listening to "Om mani padme hum" by Deva Premal and it is totally taking me back there. That trip was so much fun! I had no idea what to expect, as it was my first mind body fitness conference, and I was going to be sharing a hotel room with Dacia. I'd never met her and never spoken to her on the phone, we had only been in contact via email. My aunt dropped me off at the airport, and my flight was direct and pretty empty. A guy was sitting across the aisle from me, and before we even took off he started talking to me. First it was just normal airplane talk. You know, where are you going? What are you going to do there? Then he started talking to me in depth about yoga, which I am always up for. He said he practiced at Yoga Source in Carytown and was dropping some names I'd heard before, so I figured he was telling the truth. And he probably was, but he was still an idiot and you will find out why in a moment. He said he thought it was so great that I'd figured out what I wanted to do at such a young age, and he couldn't believe how mature I was and blah blah blah, and he admired my dedication to yoga. Whatever. By the end of the flight, for whatever reason this man had decided it would be a good idea to ask me to go to dinner with him in Fort Lauderdale. He owned a branch of Wachovia Securities in Richmond and lived in Windsor Farms (allegedly. Again, whatever). I told him I was not impressed, as I am not driven by money. This seemed to spark his interest even more. Then I asked if he was married. He said no. I said, "I don't believe you." "Why not?", he asked, "I'm not wearing a ring." AND?! Is that supposed to mean something? He admitted pretty quickly that he was, indeed, married, but that it was a bad marriage. As if that would excuse the fact that is old (and married) ass was trying to take me to dinner. Then I asked him how old he was. He said 36. I said, "Well, I don't believe that either. Let me see your id." After a few minutes he reluctantly showed me his id, which revealed that he was 44. Oh, I forgot to mention that when he was all interested in my yoga, he asked for my card so he could contact me about corporate yoga for his staff. I gave it to him and he texted me the entire trip trying to get me to change my mind about dinner. Once we were both back in Richmond he continued to call and ask about corporate yoga, leaving voicemail after voicemail. Take a hint, buddy. I don't think so. So anyway, enough about that portion of the story. Dacia arrived in Florida a couple hours before I did, so she waited for me in the airport and we got a cab together to the Sheraton (where the conference was being held). It was hot and humid as hell from the moment we stepped out of the airport, might I add. Not that that is a surprise for Florida, or that it even is relevant to my story in any way. But whatever. We went outside to find a long line of cabs waiting to take people where they needed to go. This foreign cab driver approached us, and practically just started grabbing our luggage and loading it into his car. He was so friendly, and his cab was nice. "How much?", I asked. "Thirty dollars." I said, "How about twenty?" He said that it was thirty dollars. I asked him why and he said that was just what it cost to go from the airport to the area where our hotel was. I grabbed my bag back from him and told him that the Sheraton told my friend that it was only $20. We went to the cab behind him and got our ride for $20, which I thought was still a bit much. Dacia is from a small town in North Carolina, so she kind of had this, "Way to take control of the situation" look on her face. Always! Stick with me, and you are not terribly likely to get ripped off. Unless it comes to getting work done on a car, because I know nothing about that. I will, however, try to act like I do in order to avoid getting ripped off. So we get to our hotel and I'm thinking, "You have GOT to be kidding me!" This place was a first class dump! And expensive! The pictures made it look so luxurious, and we figured YogaFit would pick a nice hotel. It was right on the beach, which was cool, but we had minimal time to ourselves because we were there for teacher training! Our room was oceanfront, per our request, but there wasn't even a balcony. This place was so outdated. Once we got settled in, we set out to find a bite to eat. The hotel restaurant was really expensive and didn't have any vegetarian menu options, so we decided to go see what else was around. Nothing. We walked for over a mile before finding a Blimpie's Subs in a gas station. We ate there, and it was gross. On the way back to the hotel, we got caught in a torrential downpour. It was raining so hard that it hurt. We felt like we were being pelted by needles! But we couldn't help but laugh. Our Florida experience was sucking so far! But we connected immediately, so that was really nice. So the entire first day and night was a bit crazy, but the first day of our actual training was great! We met so many great people and learned so much about yoga and ourselves. It was long and exhausting, but so enlightening. I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. One night we got pizza delivered to our room and missed the delivery guy and ended up waiting like two hours for him to come back, and we never did have anything healthy (or tasty for that matter) to eat the whole trip, but the energy of all of us being together for the same purpose was over overpowering that nothing else mattered. By the end of the trip, we had discovered a cute coffee shop with wifi for Dacia, and a restaurant that had outdoor seating and decent food, and all was well. I really did have the best time. Dacia and I ended up rooming together in Columbus the next month for Level 5. I'm so happy I met her. We stay in loose contact (facebook only, really), but I still feel close to her. Some people come into our lives and serve a great purpose, even though they are only in our lives for a short time. She is one of those people for me. And I believe the feeling is mutual. We both drew so much inspiration from the other. We were so different, like night and day really, but it worked for us. We stayed up so late every night in our hotel room laughing our butts off and talking about our families and friends (not in a bad way, of course). When we left each other in Ohio, it was kind of emotional. We had only spent a week total together, but we knew it wasn't very likely that we'd cross paths again. Our 200 hours of training were over, and it was just a bit emotional. Nothing ridiculous, there were no tears or anything. It was just like a "I'm so happy to have met you and shared these experiences with you" kind of thing. And it was nice. I can't wait to go to my next MBF Conference in Hood River! It's just a little over a month away! I'm looking forward to meeting some west coast yogis and relaxing! I am taking the restorative yoga training, so that will be really nice. And since I'm already finished with my 200 hours, there won't be any pressure. I'm there solely because I want to be, not because I need to be. And Dana will be with me taking Level 4, so I'm excited for her because that was my best training and I hope that she will enjoy hers as much as I enjoyed mine. And that pretty much sums up my "yoga and my life" series!

I had no idea this blog was going to be this long when I sat down to write it. Actually, I was going to make it very short and only write about the nice lady I wrote about in the first paragraph. But my mind got a little carried away. Keith will be home in about an hour and I guess we will be heading out!

Sarah Palin is resigning, for those of you who have been living under a rock for the past couple days. Some say it's so she can prepare for the next presidential election. I hope so, I look forward to all the jokes that come along with it.

In other news, I had the best time last night! Keith and I went to Ben and Stacy's and tok a dip in the pool, then we ate some leftover food from their camping trip (smart dogs!) and then played lots of games. I love games! We might go back over there tomorrow to celebrate Stacy's 25th birthday. We also talked about hiking and then hanging out by the river. Stacy and Ben seem like 10 pounds of fun in a 5 pound bag and I love it! I don't know exactly what that statement means, but I interpret it as meaning "a whole lot of fun"!

This morning I went to Starbucks and got a venti coffee to split with Keith. He is playing a game on his iPod Touch and I am blogging. What a lovely Saturday morning! But we both have to be at work at 12. Buzzkill. I think I am going to wear a blue dress, a white cardigan and red flats in celebration of this joyous day in which we celebrate the independence of America!

I miss my family today. I would love to be with them, harassing them for eating pigs and cows. Actually, I miss them every day. I am so thankful for my daddy buying me a ticket to come home in August. I don't think I could have waited until Christmas. My mom says she will be glued to my side for the duration of the visit, but I think it might be the other way around!

Dana will be here before I know it and we will be spending an amazing four days at Hood River for our yoga training! I can't wait. I am so looking forward to it.

I think I'm done blogging for now! Happy freedom day!!

For you, Dan Tillery!

Because I love you!

do what now?

My sister-in-law's friend sent me an invite on facebook tonight asking me to join the "Impeach Obama" cause. My first thought: You're shitting me, right? I had to do a double take! I mean come on, asking me to support that cause is an insult of the highest order. Do you know me at all?? Or are you just trying to be a dick? I'll go with the first one because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt.

aveda institute

I am so completely in love with the Aveda Institute after getting a $14 hair cut today! I was a little nervous to let a student cut my hair so short, because if it gets messed up I'd likely end up with a pixie cut. But she did a lovely job. Hair cuts range from $10-$16 (depending on the level of the student), and highlights are only $35. They have lots of salon and spa services for really cheap. And it's only a few blocks away from my apartment. I am so in love.

cannon beach 5/5/09

ehh

I had a really good workout last night! I put some new music on my ipod so that helped motivate me. Music is a great motivator, I think.

Simon is feeling better. He perked back up last night, I think maybe he just had a tummy ache or something.

I think I will blog more later. But not right now.

potayto-potahto

Today I was a total couch potato. I taught a yoga class this morning, then came home and went back to bed until 11. Then I got on the couch and watched the entire 5th season of Entourage. I think little Simon is sick today. He has been very lethargic, barely eating anything and not meowing at all. Whenever I get up he always follows me, but not today. Poor little furbaby. I hope he feels better tomorrow.

I am about to go to the gym. I feel so gross after spending the whole day on the couch. And tomorrow I am getting a hair cut at the Aveda Institute. I'm not sure what I will do just yet. I'm so happy to have discovered that place. It's right around the corner from my house and they have very cheap salon and spa services.

I can't believe it's July already. Next month is going to be so great! I should be going to hang out with Jeff in Seattle one day, then Dana's coming in for our yoga training in Hood River, then I go back to Virginia for vacation! I wish there was a San Diego trip somewhere in there. Sadly, I don't think I will make it there this year. But that's okay, maybe next year I will be living there? We've talked about it...

I had so much to do today! Well, just cleaning really. I guess maybe I will do it when I get home from the gym. Ugh. I have not been interested in going to the gym recently. I have been more interested in salsa con queso dip. Speaking of that, I can't wait to have lunch in Richmond at El Caporal!

Poor Simon! I just want to scoop him up and hold him like a baby!

Off to the gym... after I update my ipod!

xoxo,
