hot damn.

Earlier today I thought this whole weekend would be lame. Keith is working and I am not. My friends are either working or out of town. I got so bummed. I went to the Nike Factory store, which only irritated me because I didn't find anything good, and couldn't have purchased it if I did. Traffic sucked. Road closures everywhere due to festivals and road work. From there I went to the gym and did cardio and some yoga, then I came home and sulked. And for no reason! I'm a believer in that 'life is what you make it' saying so I decided to give my attiturd a makeover. I decided I would use my alone time to bake a cake, cook myself dinner and do some much needed cleaning.

I've been baking a fair amount of cakes recently. Because I've been baking them from scratch I just decided I wouldn't ruin them with store bought frosting so I left them naked. Tonight I baked a vegan chocolate cake and made vegan chocolate frosting to go on top. I just ate a tiny piece and honest to God it's one of the best cakes I have ever tasted. Ever. It's moist, it's rich, it's chocolatey, it's everything I could ever ask for in a cake and more. Yea, I'm that passionate about it. It's amazing.

I made curried tempeh for dinner. This is the second time I've made it and it's much better than my first batch. I didn't cook the potatoes long enough the first time, so I made sure not to make that mistake again. And I have enough to last me for another two or three days, since Keith won't touch it. At the grocery store today, I picked up the things he requested. White bread, cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, sliced cheddar cheese and american cheese. Oh and mexican rice. Those are the things he likes, so I don't take offense when he doesn't eat my cooking.

Still listening to The Black Keys Pandora station. It's still great.

I've got to go hop in the shower now. I'm meeting Melanie and her boyfriend for drinks soon. YAY! So glad I made the decision to makeover my attiturd, this has turned out to be a lovely evening!
