hey, twit

I have a twitter account. I've tweeted three times, my last tweet is from a year ago and says 'is teaching yoga at 6:30'. I get on twitter maybe once every couple of weeks because I follow some of my favorite celebs and I like to see what they're up to. If you know me personally, you probably know that I really enjoy trashy celebrity gossip. It's as much an addiction of mine as my morning coffee. Some of my favorite twits are the Kardashian sisters, Paris & Nicky Hilton and Holly Madison. Paris Hilton is currently in Las Vegas and as I'm sitting here in my living room on this rainy Monday morning, I can't help but think, "Oh, to be Paris Hilton." Some of her tweets include how much fun she had at the UFC Fight, her yummy dinner at Okada and her super fun time at Tryst. In recent months, I've seen her post photos of her new Roxy snowboard and talking about learning how to ride in beautiful Park City, Utah while in town for Sundance, photos of her hanging out in her private jet and talking about how much she loves sleeping on airplanes, etc etc etc. Girlfriend is always doing something fun and interesting. I know I'm not supposed to say this, but I envy her.

Meanwhile, here are some of the happy and exciting things in my life... If you're my facebook friend, you know that I recently fell in love with this nail polish a customer at my store was wearing. I asked her what kind it was and she nonchalantly told me it was Chanel. I googled it. $23. I went to Nordstom and found out that it was a limited edition color from the holiday season and there were only two bottles left. Immediately, this sense of urgency came over me and I decided that I had to buy it before it was gone. I decided to leave the store without it. I had the money to buy it, but I also had an empty gas tank. I thought about it on the walk home, and as I laid in bed that night. Yes, I take these things very seriously. I tried to justify the frivolous purchase by telling myself, "Well, Tami, you DO paint your nails regularly." This is true, my nails are almost always painted. But then I decided that I should explore other options, such as O.P.I. I found this color called 'over the taupe', but Fred Meyer didn't have it and I couldn't really tell what it would look like in the tiny photo online. So this customer comes in yesterday and she has this lovely color on her nails. I was sure it was the Chanel color. So, of course, I asked her what it was. I explained to her that I was on the hunt for the perfect 'taupey' nail color and she happily told me that it was O.P.I. 'You Don't Know Jacques'. Score! I had found a solution to the "I love that color but can't afford Chanel" dilemma. Now, all I had to do was actually track down the color. I knew Fred Meyer didn't have it, because if they did I would have seen it for sure. I decided to pop into Blush Beauty Bar on my walk home. I love to shop local whenever I can! I'd much rather support a local business over Nordstrom anyday! So I go into Blush and head over to their nail polishes. They're pricy. $14 range. That's pushing it for me. One thing I do love about Blush is that they have testers of all their colors, so you don't have to feel sneaky when applying the color to your thumbnail in the store. I tried on this color by 'Butter' The color was nice, although a little light for my liking, but the consistency was a bit goopy. It wasn't 'the one'. I decided to take a look at their other brands, no luck. Just as I was about to leave I happened to see three lone polishes in the top left corner. They were O.P.I. One looks perfect. I grab it. I look at the bottom. It's 'You Don't Know Jacques'. I bought it, and to make the experience even more amazing, the sales girl gave me the neighbor discount for working down the street. I came home and immediately put it on and decided that it was the best $7 I will spend all week. Yes!

And that is my life. A paragraph about my desire to be like Paris Hilton followed by a whole paragraph detailing my search for the perfect nail polish. Feel free to 'de-friend' me now.

xoxo-T

  1. heck no, you twit... I'd never unfriend you. even if I twitted.... or tweeted... or whatever the heck it is.

I still haven't ordered an air bed yet because there are too many options. why don't you pick one and let me know which one you want, and I will order it. I gave myself a headache last week looking at them. double high, built in pump, MP3 player, twin/full/queen, so many options. I want to get you a good one. I could probably message this to you on Facebook. Oh wait... I already did! :)
