After I taught my class I came home and went back to sleep for two hours, then Keith and I went to breakfast at Biscuits. I had strawberry banana pancakes and three cups of coffee, and Keith had his usual two eggs, biscuits and hashbrowns and coffee. From there he went to the coffee shop to write and I went to Couch Park and laid out on a towel with my Yoga Gems book and I marked all the passages I liked the most.
This evening Keith and I walked around Portland and noticed that Jerry Seinfeld is here! We also went to the family fair thing down by the river, and that was nice but I wanted my nephews to be there with me. They would have loved it. They had a bunch of animals there and they all looked so sad. They were in these tiny little cages and it was loud and people were crowded around them. I think that's wrong. I think if you want to see animals, get on the max and go to the Oregon Zoo. It's three stops from our apartment.
We could see Mount Hood tonight and it was so beautiful. It's beauty always takes my breath away for a second, every single time I see it. It is like nothing I have ever seen before. It's huge and covered in snow. No picture can do it justice. Mount Saint Helens is big too, but because of the eruption, one side of it is completely blown off. Decapitated, as they say. They both amaze me. When I am driving home from Tualatin on a clear day there is a point where I can see them both in the same view and that really blows my mind!
Today I have been thinking about baby Ellie a lot. I can't wait to see her and hold her and hug her and kiss her! I can't even imagine how perfectly adorable she will be.
I was going to go to the gym tonight but it is 9:00 already and I still have to shower, and I have to teach at 8:15 in the morning. I guess maybe I should just skip the gym for today! I have two discs of Gilmore Girls on DVD so maybe I will watch an episode or two before hitting the sack.
I think I'd like to take a spinning class tomorrow.
Sunday is the Sasquatch Festival and I could not be more excited! Jane's Addiction! Nine Inch Nails! TV on the Radio! And more! The festival lasts three days but we are only going to go to one. Tomorrow Devotchka and Kings of Leon and The Decemberists and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs will be taking the stage. Monday Erykah Badu and Santigold will be there. What a great weekend of great music! The weather is supposed to be gorgeous, too. It's at the Columbia River Gorge, which is in Washington about 4 hours away.
I miss my family!

PS- I meant to mention that last night as I was walking home from the gym I saw Mel (from my soccer team) sitting outside at Rogue having a beer, so I stopped and talked to her. It was nice to see a familiar face on the street! That doesn't happen to me very often yet here!
