Getting an Oregon license is not going to be as easy as I thought. I guess it won't be too terribly hard, either. I just have to pass some test on Oregon laws. Whatever. It would have been a lot easier to study if the asshole at the counter had given me a book, and I was too pissed off to remember to ask for one. I'll have to go to another DMV tomorrow to pick one up. Once I get a piece of mail from my insurance company and I've studied a little bit I can go back. Who knew that a lease wasn't proof of residency? Oh well.

I'm sitting at the computer listening to Sufjan Stevens right now. I love it.

Adam left about 20 minutes ago. I was going to ride with him but I'm really scared I will get busted for not paying for the max since I've ridden it for free to the airport four times in the past week. Also, Keith and I have a heap of laundry that I need to get done. We have three washing machines in the building and I am using all of them, which means I probably have a total of 6 loads to do. That's a lot! I am never going to let it pile up like that again! Keith only had enough detergent for two loads when I got here. I finally went to Target today and got a huge thing of it! I also got a welcome mat for our front door, a power strip, light bulbs, a trash can, trash bags and a couple other little things. By the end of the week this place should feel a lot more like home. Mom shipped me a bunch of hangers today, so maybe tomorrow Keith can clean out a closet for me and I can finally get all of my clothes hung up and put away.

The weather here today is so nice! It's 60 degrees and sunny. It hasn't rained once!

I had to go by 24 Hour Fitness this afternoon to give them my birth certificate and student id so I can officially be an employee. It's such a blessing that I kept that id, otherwise I really wouldn't have any way of proving who I am. I can't wait for things to get straight!

I was drying my hair this afternoon, and to my surprise, the ghetto Rite Aid called. Once you fill out your application you are supposed to do a telephone survey and that completes your application. I decided I wasn't going to do it because I really didn't want to work there. They called me today and asked me to do the telephone survey so I could come in for an interview. I was like, ok whatever. Now that I have my yoga teaching job, I don't mind working some ghetto job for a little while to supplement my income. The questions on the telephone survey were so ridiculous. They were like, do you think it's okay to steal from your job? How many times have you stolen from your job? Do you smoke marijuana? Like if I did any of those things I would really admit to it in an interview?! I figured it must just be some kind of common sense test more than anything, because what moron would tell their potential employer that they think it's okay to get stoned and steal from work? I assume there are people in this world who are that dumb, though.

I think I will do three loads of laundry tonight and three more tomorrow and then be done with it, for a couple days anyway. Between Keith and me, I think I will be doing laundry three times a week or so. He wears regular clothes and work clothes, and I wear regular clothes and yoga clothes, which equals double the laundry. When I'm finished with it tonight I am going to go to his work and have a beer or two and maybe hang out with Amber. Her boyfriend works there one night a week because he is the only person who doesn't mind waiting on this S&M group that comes in every Wednesday. I've been hearing Keith talk about these people and I want to see for myself what it's about.

Simon did a weird thing today. Right after I got out of the shower, he came in and jumped in the tub and started licking it! What a weirdo! I told Keith about it and he said he does that all the time. I checked to make sure he had water in his bowl and he did, so I don't know what that was all about!

I really love how easy it is to get around in Portland. I have been walking everywhere and it's great! I am going to walk to McMenamin's later when I go. I also love that it's safe to walk around at night. Whoever says Portland is the Richmond of the west coast is completely off their rocker. Portland and Richmond are completely different cities! I've noticed just in talking to random people that a lot of people move here. Most of the people I have talked to were not born and raised here. Off the top of my head, I have met people from New York, Alabama, Salt Lake City, San Diego, and Minnesota.

I think I am going to really love working at 24 Hour Fitness. I am really looking forward to teaching my first class there next Wednesday, but it is so early! Michelle emailed me today and told me she was so glad I was willing to take that class, because she had people on the list who wanted to teach yoga but didn't want to teach that early. Early morning is not my preference, but she said it's a really great group, and who am I to be picky? I want to teach yoga, and I'm going to teach yoga! Morning, noon or night. I don't care! :) Give me a mat and some students and I'm good to go.

I'm going downstairs to check on my laundry now!
