I taught my first class at 24 Hour Fitness yesterday morning, bright and early at 5:45. It was a good class. I had 9 students, and they told me that they normally had a much larger group but that it was spring break. I was fine with 9 being that it was my first class there. I picked up another class for 7:30 tonight at the Tualatin gym and I also picked up one for Sunday morning, giving me a total of 4 classes this week! It's very exciting because they have this great swapboard system, and anytime someone wants to get a yoga class covered they put it on the swap board, and I get an email about it! Being that I get emails sent straight to my blackberry and I have a completely open schedule, it is very easy for me to pick up classes!
Last night I took a restorative class at Yoga Shala with Amber and her friend Lindsey. It was 90 minutes and the instructor and her husband (also a yoga teacher) had just moved here from California so she was talking about studying for her Oregon drivers license. I need to do the same thing! But anyway, I was talking to her and she said that it doesn't matter that I'm not registered with yoga alliance and that I should try to teach at a studio anyway because as long as I have my certifications (which I do) it doesn't really matter. Good to know!
Sorry this blog is short but I'm hungry and I'm going to eat breakfast. By the way, I can skype on Keith's computer, so let me know if you have a webcam and we can skype! So far I have only skyped with Adam (and the lovely Jaime for two seconds) and I loved it!
Toodles.
