I am so happy right now! I have definitely had my highs and lows since I've been here, but tonight was a definite high! I did three loads of laundry and then went to McMenamin's for a couple drinks. I saw the S&M crowd that comes in every Wednesday night and I was disappointed because for some reason I thought they would be good looking. Unfortunately, they were not good looking at all. I was actually horrified at the thought that these people were members of an S&M club, or whatever they call it. It just kind of blows my mind. If you're into getting spanked or beaten or bitten or whatever, that's your business. But to put it out there for the whole world to see is just a bit strange to me! These people get together at a bar once a week and it's a known fact that they're into S&M. Anyway, I sat at the bar and had a couple beers. Ryan was working, so Amber showed up when he got off and we went across the street to another bar and we talked for a while. Then we went back to McMenamin's and talked some more and I really like her. She was out with everyone for Adam's birthday, but I'd been drinking all day and we didn't get to talk much. Anyway, I really like her a lot and she is just getting into yoga and I am going to a class with her tomorrow night. She reminds me of Erica, so of course I like her! She and Ryan are both great people. She has to wake up at 5 during the week so she went home, and about thirty minutes later I went home too. I walked, and it was great. It's weird being able to walk home alone at night and still be safe! It's definitely not that way in Richmond.
Amber is a member at Bally's and said that the yoga teachers there are mediocre and she doesn't like them very much. I feel like I'm pretty good at what I do, and I would not describe myself as mediocre. Which makes me think I should go to Bally's and try to get a job there in addition to working at 24 Hour Fitness.
As I mentioned earlier, I've had my highs and lows here, but I do feel like I am where I need to be at this point in my life. I really feel like if I want to make a career out of teaching yoga, this is the perfect place for me. Once the stress of moving is all gone and I have an Oregon license and my insurance is all straight, I think I will be happier than ever.
I can honestly say I don't think a funnier movie has ever been made than the Big Lebowski. John Goodman's character is absolutely hilarious. My dad watched it and I think I remember him thinking it wasn't that funny. He must be crazy. Mom, I know you read this and I think you need to tell Daddy that he must watch it again.
I have the cutest picture of River's smiling face framed next to the couch. How lucky am I to have three such precious nephews?! And another niece or nephew on the way! I'm the luckiest aunt in the whole world. Except for Aunt Carolyn, she's pretty lucky because she has me! Hehehehe :)
I have so much laundry to fold and it's midnight. Ugh. I don't wanna!!! :(
